Organization Settings
Manage your organization's name, slug, plan, and profile settings. Understand what each setting controls and who can modify it.
Overview
Organization Settings is where Owners and Admins manage the core details of their organization and their personal profile. These settings affect how your organization appears across AEO Optima and control account-level preferences.
Note: Organization Settings are available to Owners and Admins only. Members and Viewers can view their own profile settings but cannot modify organization-level fields.
Organization Details
Organization Name
The display name of your organization, shown in the sidebar, team settings, and anywhere your organization is referenced. Owners and Admins can edit this at any time.
Changing the organization name does not affect your data, projects, or team members. It is a display-only change.
Slug
The URL-friendly identifier for your organization, auto-generated from the organization name when the organization is created. The slug is used in URLs throughout the platform.
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Format | Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens |
| Example | acme-corp |
| Editable | No — the slug is read-only after creation |
If you need a different slug, contact support.
Plan
Displays your organization's current subscription tier. Click Upgrade to view available plan options and feature comparisons.
Your plan determines access to features such as the number of projects, snapshot frequency, team size, and available AI models. See the pricing page for full plan details.
Organization ID
A unique identifier for your organization. This value is primarily useful when contacting support, as it helps the team locate your account quickly.
You can copy the Organization ID directly from the settings page.
Profile Settings
Profile settings apply to your individual user account, not to the organization. Every team member can manage their own profile settings regardless of their role.
Display Name
Your name as it appears to other team members in the organization. This is shown in team lists, activity logs, and anywhere your user is referenced.
The email address associated with your account. This field is read-only and reflects the email you used to sign up. If you need to change your email, contact support.
Avatar URL
Set a custom avatar by providing a URL to an image. The image is displayed in the sidebar, team lists, and your profile. If no avatar URL is set, a default avatar is generated from your initials.
Password
Change your account password from the profile settings. The new password must be at least 6 characters long.
To change your password:
- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Enter your new password
- Confirm the new password
- Click Update Password
Warning: If you signed up with Google authentication, you may not have a password set. Use Google sign-in to access your account, or set a password here to enable email and password login as an alternative.
Budget Controls
Each project in your organization has a spending guardrail to keep costs predictable. Org credits — the real balance you've paid for — are never reset by these controls. Only the per-project tally is affected.
Choosing a budget mode
In Settings > Project, every project has a Budget mode with three options:
| Mode | What it means | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Hard cap (default) | The allocation is a lifetime ceiling. When the project hits the cap, captures stop and an admin must raise the allocation to resume. | Client engagements where each $X is a deliberate ceiling — e.g. agency deliverables. |
| Monthly cap | The allocation is a per-month ceiling. The cap-tracker resets on the 1st automatically; org credits are never reset. | Ongoing internal monitoring with predictable monthly pacing. |
| Uncapped | No per-project cap. The project draws freely from the org credit balance. | Internal projects where the org owner trusts the workload. |
In all three modes the org's real credit balance is what truly limits spend. The mode just controls whether the per-project guardrail is a one-shot cap, a recurring monthly cap, or absent.
Budget alerts
When a project's spend approaches its cap, AEO Optima fires alerts at three thresholds: 80% used (warning), 100% used (captures stop), and a separate "monthly projection exceeds allocation" warning when the trajectory points to exhausting before month-end.
These alerts surface in three places:
- Project banner — top of every dashboard page, severity-colored, dismissible.
- Header bell — combined unread count alongside snapshot alerts.
- Email digest — sent hourly to org owners + admins (one digest per recipient, throttled per alert type per 24 hours so you're never spammed).
Acknowledging an alert removes it from the banner and bell. New alerts of the same kind can re-fire after the dedup window closes.
Adding more credits
When a project is approaching or has hit its cap, an org owner or admin can:
- Raise the allocation — Settings > Project > Budget. The project resumes capturing immediately if there's headroom.
- Reallocate from a sibling project — the platform owner can move unused budget between projects within the same org. Useful when one project is winding down and another is ramping up.
- Top up org credits — when the org's real credit balance is low, the org owner purchases more credits via the billing portal. New credits roll into the existing balance and don't expire.
